Welcome to the website of Le Chéile N.S. The school opened on 1st September 2015. Le Chéile has been created from the amalgamation of Galvone N.S. and Southill Junior School. The 12 classroom school is built to the newest and highest standards and with a highly qualified, experienced and dedicated staff who offer quality in all aspects of primary education.

Our motto “Together we achieve” summarises our commitment to support each child, entrusted into our care, to maximise his/her talents and potential.

Welcome Back To School

Dear Parent/Guardian, Starting school or starting a new school year can be stressful at the best of times, let alone during a global pandemic. As you know we have been working very hard to keep our school as normal as possible over the last year or so. Green Schools 2020-2021

  Green-Schools celebrated the first International Linking Event with our colleagues and friends in Eco-Schools Kenya and Kenya Organisation for Environmental Education (KOEE) on the 17th June 2021. SFI STEAM Plaque 2020-2021

Le Chéile NS are delighted to have recieved a SFI STEAM Plaque for the 2020-2021 academic year. STEAM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Maths.  This was very much a whole school project with every class getting involved. Woodwork 2019

Fifth class parents and children recently completed a five week workshop focused on woodwork with their Community Education tutor Brian Mitchell. The programme involved fourteen parents and children. The project utilised cross-curricular subject areas with a strong emphasis on numeracy. Children and parents were measuring, constructing and estimating during the design of their bird boxes. The project also linked in with the Biodiversity initiative currently running in the school. In addition to the bird boxes, we constructed window boxes which will lead to the next phase of the project, planting and cultivating. There were some fantastically creative and artistic designs. There was great collaboration during the project and children and parents thoroughly enjoyed and benefitted from the experience. We cannot wait for phase two to begin.
