The Sing Out With Strings ‘Le Cheile” orchestra were working very hard last term, as well as
their school performances, they were busy performing in different community settings around
Limerick.
In October they played for residents in the Milford Care home, impressing everyone with their
manners and music, in November they performed at the glitzy Limerick Chamber of Commerce
annual dinner in the Strand Hotel and in December they performed a Christmas set in the centre
of Limerick earning €110 in 25 minutes, for the Homeless in Limerick.
Sinead and Gerry, from NOVAS, McGarry house for the homeless, came along to an orchestra
practice in December , where the children presented them with a cheque and played some carols.
Not only are the children fine musicians, they are also great ambassadors for the school
community, the Sing Out with Strings programme and for young people in Limerick.
We are so proud of their work and achievements and we are really looking forward to more great
things from all the children in Le Cheile in 2017.
